Saints WIN the GFA Intermediate Cup

At a match played behind closed doors at the GFA Headquarters at Oaklands, our Reserve team under the management of Joe Tarbuck and Steve Mitchell won the GFA Intermediate Cup Final versus Fishponds Old Boys.

They took an early lead through club marksman Will Truscott only to reach the interval 1-2 in arrears, the second period was hard fought and an equaliser came when Tom Sort headed home from close range with some 25 minutes still to go. After 90 minutes it remained at 2-2 and the contest was moved to a penalty shoot-out, Saints were flawless scoring through, Truscott, Bawden, Slade, Bircham, Burling, Wright, and then Adam Richens made a great save and up stepped Ed Davies who coolly finished bring the cup back to the Mouse.

This was a historic moment for our club, a first, the lads on parade included two included two sons of former Saints, the proud dads Robert Tarbuck and Dave Richens.
