ABOUT
We’re a local Bristol-based team, always looking for new players. We’re now one of the largest clubs playing in the Downs League, with 5 mens adult teams competing across 4 divisions. Founded in 1968, we’re a club with plenty of history, and still hold the record for consecutive division one titles, equalling the 70-year-old record held by Union Jack (1920s). In addition to 11-a-side matches during the season, we run weekly training sessions as well as pre-season fitness training and friendly games. There’s also lots of opportunities to get involved off the pitch.
WHY JOIN?
MATCHeS
This is a chance to play regular competitive 11-a-side football every Saturday afternoon, with games during the season (September-April), kicking off at 2.00pm. All matches played in the historic Downs League, on Clifton and Durdham Downs (The Downs) in the heart of Bristol.
TRAINING
Training is held throughout the year, with pre-season 7-a-side and 11-a-side matches on Tuesday and Sundays. Learn more
OFF-THE-PITCH
The club has a vibrant friendly social side that includes an annual tour to European destinations and plenty of local occasions throughout the season. The club headquarters are at The Victoria Inn in Westbury on Trym.

“I don’t think any of us who were around at the start of the amazing journey of this Football Club could have imagined its success and longevity. From a bunch of kids playing kick-about games in St Andrews Park over 50 years ago to running 5 teams, winning trophies and establishing ourselves as one of the most respected Clubs in the oldest League in Bristol is an outstanding achievement.
Any organisation is only as good as the people within in it and we have been fortunate to have many talented footballers throughout our existence and we are very proud of our success on the pitch. To hold the record of consecutive Downs League championships is something very special.
However, success on the field can only happen if you have a solid support structure in place and we have been very fortunate to have had a strong group of dedicated people who have given their time, effort and enthusiasm in ensuring that we continue to develop and grow.
